It was on the last Sunday of the month that SAABE, Arizona Bilingual Newspaper, Amerigroup, U of A Cancer Center, and Tucson Electric Power hosted their first annual Walk for the Fight Against Breast Cancer at the El Pueblo Center, located on 101 W.
Irvington Rd. It was a 1.8-mile trail that concluded in a big festival with music, fun, food, raffles, and mariachis! We also hosted workshops led by Dr. Jorge Gomez & Dr. Samorano whom are experts on emotional well-being and Cancer prevention, and took some time to educate our community on these topics.
This was our first annual Cancer Walk and it turned out to be a success, but only due to the help from our sponsors and donors whom supported this wonderful cause. A very special thanks to La Poderosa 105.3FM & Toño 92.5 FM, as well as our outstanding team of Volunteers, the 520 Cowboys; thank you!
