The much-anticipated double feature weekend of “Barbenheimer” – that is, Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” – pushed their opening weekend to a staggering combined total of $311 million during both movies’ opening weekend. “Barbie” accounted for 52 percent of the gross box office sales that weekend, while “Oppenheimer” accounted for 26 percent.
The remaining $66 million belonged to movies like “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” and “Sound of Freedom.”
