The Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in 2023 conducted a study of an ethnically and racially diverse population of older adults, found that volunteering was associated with better baseline scores on tests of memory, thinking and planning. So, this is good news for people who like to serve the community and get socially involved with an organization that requires volunteering. And now that we know that as time passes, we will obtain more rewards than just the satisfaction of serving, being useful and helping those who need help, by doing our volunteering now we will also have the joy of knowing that our memory and our mental health are also getting its benefits from such a noble collaboration, in good time with this good news!
