STUDY CONTINUES TO DETERMINE IF TUMAMOC HILL WILL REMAIN OPEN – dy to see if visitors to the popular walking trail are adhering to the mandatory mask-wearing rule.
If not, university officials say they will again close the mountain to visitors. The site was closed March 18 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It reopened May 25 and within a week saw nearly 1,000 people each day, according to the university. School officials also said that only 30-40% of visitors were following mask guidelines. The two-week evaluation period is due to end this Friday.
