The Government of Sonora, through the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), inaugurated Casa Sonora this Monday at the Mexican Embassy in Ottawa, as part of Mexico Week in Canada.
Casa Sonora is an exhibition space dedicated to the state of Sonora, where visitors from September 9 to 15 will have the opportunity to enjoy indigenous crafts, photographs, Sonoran short films, interactive activities, workshops, and culinary tastings, in addition to experiencing the region’s traditional drink, bacanora.
The Secretary of Tourism for the State, Roberto Gradillas Pineda, expressed his deep gratitude to the Mexican Embassy in Ottawa for the kind invitation, which will allow the promotion of the state with its tourism offerings and products. More importantly, it will demonstrate to the entire Mexican community the presence of Sonora.
“Thanks to the great work done by Governor Alfonso Durazo in tourism, with his vision and management, today we are promoting this wonderful state with its rich gastronomy, significant history, and traditions discovered through its indigenous ethnic groups. But above all, what makes Sonora special is the human quality of its people, which always distinguishes us,” said Gradillas Pineda.
The goal of Sonora’s participation is to foster commercial, economic, cultural, and tourism relationships by extensively promoting our destinations and the wonders we have to offer to the Canadian market.
