We live in a society where it is easy to lose patience and act impulsively. Impatience generates stress and anxiety, which is why it is common that when things do not go as and when we want, thoughts are triggered in us that make us feel very bad.
Learning to cultivate patience gives us well-being, which is why we have 5 tips for you to be more patient.
- Differentiate what depends on you from what doesn’t. We must let go of everything that does not depend on us. On the other hand, if the situation has to do with us, effort and enjoying the path that takes us to the goal comes into play.
- Postpone the reward. It is enough to wait a little longer to eat something that we really want, prolong it as long as possible. This will allow us to realize that nothing happens if the pleasurable stimulus takes longer to arrive.
- Live in the present. Having full awareness in our daily routine throughout all the activities we do makes us lower expectations and stop living waiting.
- More reflection. Stopping talking and thinking before releasing anything that comes to mind will lead us to be more patient.
- Inhale and exhale. Conscious breathing is one of the simplest and most effective tools that exist. Thanks to it we can handle anxious situations and bring ourselves immediately to the present moment.
