Today, Governor Ducey’s Executive Order allows restaurants and coffee shops to resume dine-in services with suggested physical distancing measures. I have expressed my disappointment with this decision as local data and guidance from the Pima County Health Department does not support us resuming our regular activities.
I applaud all of the Arizona businesses that are staying strong and finding creative innovative measures to adhere to social distancing guidelines. I strongly encourage all businesses that have already or are planning to re-open to closely follow guidelines shared by the Pima County Health Department at the link below.
We are all eager to come together again, but protecting the health and safety of ALL members of our community must come first. It’s just #TooSoonArizona.
Tomorrow, Tuesday May 12 at 4 pm, I will be joining UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti for a virtual town hall to talk about the front line response to COVID19, and in particular, how the Latinx community has been disproportionately affected..
For more information on how to register for the town hall and other resources mentioned today, please see the links in the video description.
STAY HOME. STOP THE SPREAD. SAVE LIVES.
Somos uno.
I’ll talk to you soon Tucson.
