The Best Of Two Worlds

Editor´s letter

Dear readers,

The summer break in schools, the days of hot sun, barbeques, pools, beaches, and shining seas have all begun; it all sounds great, doesn’t it? Usually, many families in the United States choose to go on holiday in June or July, taking advantage of their children’s being on break and planning these trips in advance. However, with gas being this expensive and the prices of flights literally through the clouds, many families will not go out on their planned vacations. Because of this, I would like to suggest some ideas:

Locally, there are always opportunities to go out during the weekend or weekdays to interesting places in the region, such as museums, zoos, areas for camping, walking, or national parks as well — all tourist places in the city or state that are nearby and can be enjoyed to the most! You can also stay in local hotels; they always have special rates during the summer as it is considered a down season. Believe me when I say these ideas are excellent for spending time with family and not spending stratospheric amounts in faraway places. You have everything in your city and state. Make the best of it!
