Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a urinary tract infection (UTI), commonly caused by bacteria that enter the urethra and multiply in the bladder. It affects both men and women, although it is more common in women due to the anatomy of the female urinary system.
If you experience pain or burning when urinating, frequent need to go to the bathroom, if your urine is cloudy or foul-smelling, if you have pain in the lower abdomen, or, in more serious cases, if you have fever or blood in your urine, it is important to see a doctor. Treatment generally includes antibiotics and rest. Ignoring a urinary tract infection can lead to kidney complications.
Prevention includes drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, urinating after sex, wiping from front to back, wearing cotton underwear and changing it daily, as well as not holding urine for too long, have proper hygiene, and avoiding the frequent use of tight or synthetic underwear.
