The Best Of Two Worlds

Rebuild biodiversity

The term biodiversity refers to the variety of existing plants, animals and microorganisms that make up ecosystems and that generate a series of interactions between their members and the environment. Biodiversity is the living fabric of our planet. It is the basis of human well-being now and in the future, and its rapid decline threatens both nature and people. But now we have a ray of hope that comes with a historic agreement: It is a document signed in 2022 that sets concrete goals and measures to stop and reverse the loss of nature between now and 2050. The main global drivers of biodiversity loss are climate change, invasive species, overexploitation of natural resources, pollution and urbanization. The Global Report demonstrated the responsibility of human activities in the loss of biodiversity.

As our global community must reexamine our relationship with the natural world, one thing is certain: despite all our technological advances, we are completely dependent on healthy ecosystems for water, food, medicine, clothing, fuel, shelter. and energy, among others, we must respect, protect and repair our biological wealth.
