Arizona Bilingual Newspaper, June 17th, 2020 – This evening Governor Doug Ducey in his press conference along with the Arizona Department of Health, announced the latest statistics, numbers and information on COVID-19, and here’s what we know so far. He has shared with all of us how the numbers have skyrocketed since his last announcement, there were also updates on capacities of care facilities, bed in hospitals, rooms in ICU’s, and amounts of artificial respirators and how health in Arizona is rapidly evolving. On the other hand, seeing what the authorities have to say in the different cities and county’s here in Arizona, while getting input from business owners as well, he has authorized mayors to be able to implement, and enforce, the use of face masks in public. Face masks would have to be used at all times when out in public even if it is going into a store, pharmacy, or anywhere that is accessible to the public.
On the other hand, Mayor Romero have directed to the city attorneys to work on amending the local emergency proclamation to require wearing masks in public to the City of Tucson residents
Minutes later, Ramon Valadez, chairman of the County Board of supervisors, called to an urgent meeting with the Pima County Supervisors, this Friday at 3PM, to discuss this situation.
Again, we ask of everyone in the community that has been infected or has any of the symptoms to not leave their house, wash your hands frequently, use your face mask, and follow the social distancing regulations, including limiting physical contact to a minimum and stay 6 feet apart at all times. Avoid large gatherings, family reunion’s, private parties or any type of social gathering that does not follow these rules. Get ready Arizona and Mask up!
