The City of Tucson, Sahuarita, Oro Valley, Marana, among others, have something in common, they are all part of Pima County.
For example, the concept of a county government is something new for those who come from Mexico. In Mexico, there is a municipal government, a municipality made up of several cities, towns, or ejidos that are governed by the municipal presidency.
Under a county government, each city and town have its own mayor’s office.
Pima County has more than 40 departments working every day to make this region a better place to live, work and play.
Pima County has thousands of acres to help you enjoy the region.
The creation of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop, a 137-mile trail, with plans to extend it even further, is one of the most popular treasures we have. This path is used for biking, walking/running, and even horseback riding.
We have dozens of parks where you can play any sport, and bring your dog, and hiking trails around the County, including Mt. Lemmon and the other mountains surrounding the region.
The popular Kino Sports Complex has hosted concerts and seen the arrival of great international soccer stars such as David Beckham, Chicharito, Thierry Henry, and Rafael Márquez. We have seen the most popular teams in the Mexican Pacific League such as the Naranjeros from Hermosillo, and the Yaquis from Ciudad Obregón. KSC is also home to the famous Gem and Mineral Show with hundreds of booths from around the world.
Apart from entertainment, many of our departments are in charge of street maintenance, public drainage, environmental quality, flood control, and development services.
We have programs that can help you put a down payment on your home purchase, repair your credit and help with home repairs if you need it, and with Section 8 housing. Classes to build a resume, learn how to use a computer, and declare your taxes, we help you get a job.
Pima County is this and much more!
If you have any questions or problems, Pima County may be able to help you.
