Mexican Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marqués and Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo presented the Villa de Seris neighborhood in capital city of Sonora, Hermosillo, with the “Magic Neighborhood” distinction, becoming the first neighborhood in Northern Mexico and third nationwide to receive this title.
The Magic Neighborhood initiative is a continuation of the popular Magic Town program which began as a means to promote tourism throughout many regions and cities of Mexico. These distinctions are awarded to cities – and now neighborhoods – that “capture the spirit and essence” of their state or town. ‘
