Protect yourself with a mask when out in public

Tucson Mayor Regina Romero and the Pima County Health Department are urging people to wear masks when around others in public during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s not necessarily for your protection, but to keep others safe. People can spread COVID-19 before they ever show symptoms, or even if they show no symptoms at all.

Masks should fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face, be secured with ties or ear loops, include multiple layers of fabric, allow for breathing without restriction, and be able to be washed and dried in a machine without damaging the mask or changing the shape.
