Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. This is a rapidly evolving situation, and the Pima County Health Department is closely monitoring any new developments.
Wear a face covering when you’re out in public and around others (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies). It’s not for your protection, it’s to keep other people safe. People can spread COVID-19 before they ever show symptoms, or even if they show no symptoms at all.
Cloth face coverings should…
- fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face.
- be secured with ties or ear loops.
- include multiple layers of fabric.
- allow for breathing without restriction.
- be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape.
