The Pima County Board of Supervisors this morning, Oct. 20, voted to rename the Mission Library (3770 S. Mission Road) to the Richard Elías-Mission Library.
Former District 5 Supervisor Richard Elías, who died on March 28, was a champion for literacy causes, adult education, and the library system.
The board also approved $6 million in future capital improvements for the renovation, restoration, and expansion of the library, with 1% of the construction cost dedicated to public art.
