TUCSON CITY COUNCIL APPROVES MILLIONS FOR SMALL BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE– The Mayor and Tucson City Council yesterday, May 5, approved $5.5 million in funding for Tucson Mayor Regina Romero’s We Are One/Somos Uno Resiliency Fund.
The money will be distributed as grants, with $3 million earmarked to assist individuals and families, $2 million for small business assistance, and $500,000 for nonprofits.
Decisions regarding the administration and qualifications of the program will be decided at a future Mayor and Council meeting.
This funding comes on top of the $1 million in no-interest loans already approved by the Council and administered by the Business Development Finance Corporation (BDFC).
