Tomorrow, Aug. 4, is primary election day in Pima County, but there are no City of Tucson offices being contested.
Pima County is working to ensure voters and poll workers are protected as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. Although the Pima County Recorder’s Office says nearly half of the 177,000 early ballots mailed to voters have been returned, many people will show up at the polls tomorrow to vote or simply drop-off their early ballots, since it’s too late to mail them back and have them counted.
The 2,000 poll workers serving in Pima County will be supplied with masks, plastic face shields, gloves, disinfectant spray, and hand sanitizer.
Masks and proper social distancing will be required for anyone who wishes to cast a ballot. If a voter does not have a mask, they will be provided one at their polling location. The polls will be open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
