With the recent situation in Arizona, and the tensions growing in our community, we often think about the what ifs of it all, and one of the things that we sometimes forget to think about when worrying about COVID-19 is, how accessible is the test to us?
While it is true that more testing is available from when this whole thing started, the truth is, that testing remains limited, due to the novelty of this virus, and the amount of resources available to all residents of our community.
Testing is available at all hospitals in the Tucson Area, and various sites in the Old Pueblo. Here is a list of some of the Testing Centers available in Tucson:
- NextCare Urgent Care
- MinuteClinic
- Walgreens
- CVS
- FastMed Urgent Care
- El Rio Health Clinic
- Southern Arizona Urgent Care
While the tests are available, the cost may not be waived or covered to everyone, depending on where you go, the insurance provider you have, or the criteria you meet, testing may or may not be at no cost to you. We recommend that if you suspect you may have the virus, that you follow all guidelines and instructions given by the CDC, and that you call your insurance provider or any of the testing sites ahead of your visit for instructions on how to get tested. We also recommend that you call 211, the Arizona hotline for COVID-19 for more information.
