South American rattlesnake - Crotalus durissus, poisonous, white background

!!Alert!!: Rattlesnake season has arrived in Arizona

The Arizona Department of Game and Fish announced the arrival of rattlesnake species due to the spring weather. Black-tailed rattlesnakes are encountered the most. Thomas Jones, in charge of the amphibian and reptile program, stated that the state of Arizona has more species of rattlesnakes than any other state.

April is usually one of the most active months for snakes since they are coming out of hibernation. “We want people to know that there is an above-average chance that they will encounter a rattlesnake when they are outside,” Jones said.

All individuals must be careful where they place their feet and hands. It is recommended to carry a flashlight at night, because usually that is when snakes are usually most active.
