The Best Of Two Worlds

Letter from the Editor

Year 2021 is gone, a year that literally flew by. A difficult year in which we all had to adjust to new ways of working and living together, taking care of each other, and even greeting and hugging each other differently. Although sometimes it feels like we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, suddenly something happens again, and a new virus is stalking us. Year 2021, followed by an extremely difficult 2020, invite us to see things from a different perspective. Many of our loved ones, family and friends, and people we know left this world leaving a huge empty in our hearts and knowing that they will no longer be with us physically, but we will never forget their love, essence, and those special and unforgettable moments we shared until we “meet” again.

Having said that it is extremely important that we live the present, as if it was our last day, by hugging our loved ones, telling friends how important they are to us, showing love and compassion to others. This December let’s make a difference and reach out to the most needy and underprivileged.

I am pleased to share with you the great success we enjoyed this past November with the events that Arizona Bilingual carried out, one on November 20th, the Thanksgiving Festival, and the other on November 23rd, the Giving Community event. These two events gave us the opportunity to make a difference in our community. Approximately 1,300 gift cards were given away to help families buy thanksgiving dinners. Extremely grateful to my team, our great partners, and sponsors, which make these events possible. A special THANK YOU to those who were attentive to the details: companies, volunteers, entertainment, broadcasters, media partners, community, and the organization and leadership of Arizona Bilingual Newspaper, who worked super hard to make these events a success. My appreciation to all!

This year also gave us great lessons, including many things to do and reschedule for next year, which is fast approaching. We look forward to enjoying a great 2022, with better opportunities for everyone. We really hope that things change for the better, we hope for a balanced economy, that the prices for all basic products will not continue to rise as it affects family finances. We really hope that the pandemic gets under control, so that people see that the vaccine is a great healthy way to save lives. Let’s continue supporting new business initiatives. Let’s support entrepreneurs who are starting their own businesses. Let’s raise our voices, let’s have our government leaders leading with true and honest decisions so that they can solve community problems and not only looking for people’s vote and support. May we continue to promote values among our children and young people so they can have meaningful conversations. Let’s not make them drift, give them the time they need and be patient with them. Let’s not drop the spirit of coexistence between family and friends.

May 2022 be a better year for everyone. May it be a year of hope, faith, joy, and health for all of you and your families.

Wishing all of you a Christmas full of love with family and love ones, and a 2022 full of happiness and prosperity.

Happy Holidays!

With love,

Alma Gallardo, Editor in chief
