The Best Of Two Worlds

Dear Readers,

almaIt is always a pleasure to greet you, in the beautiful month of May; a month filled with celebrations all while we bask in the delicious warmth of Arizona.

I want to thank the beautiful being who gave me life; my mom, and all the beautiful mothers around me every day. I start this humble tribute to her and to all of you…More than my mother, you are my best friend. You’ve listened to me with patience and your arms are always ready to hug me. God bless my mother. Thank you for your unconditional love, thank you for your time, thank you for the life you’ve given me. You are my biggest treasure, mother!

Congratulations to all mothers this May 10, the day on which we celebrate them in the United States, Mexico, Colombia and many other countries in Latin America and around the world. We will be rolling out the red carpets the whole month! With love and respect to all of those who always read Arizona Bilingual, through our website or social networks, as well as the beautiful mothers on this month’s cover, the mothers of our staff, partners, friends, colleagues, and our dear mothers-in-laws, aunts and cousins, we wish you with love, on behalf of all of us working at Arizona Bilingual Newspaper, that this day and those yet to come, may be full of love, many special moments and family togetherness. You have to make your mom feel always special, not just this day. Do it every day and lets thank God for allowing us to be with them, as they are the center of our existence! “Pregnancy is a gift beyond price because it is a divine gift; a gift from heaven, a gift from God”.

On yet another note, we invite you to read our articles and contributions from our guests, employees and customers, who every month send their ideas, suggestions and what is happening in our community and region. So we invite you to become aware of all the events in our community, whether they are social, political, organized by non-profit organizations or outdoor activities. I think it’s extremely important that we all become interested in what happens in our community and take action on the various proposals, political and social situations, in order to participate and help others.

In this issue, we will be addressing, as a special collaboration, the possible closure of the Cherrybell Post Office, which is the largest in Pima County and other counties in southern Arizona. Please look for information in Spanish and English and learn about the economic impact that this may cause.
Finally, we invite you to attend several events that Arizona Bilingual Newspaper is hosting: Mariachi Festival, World’s Best Mariachi, Mariachi Vargas de Tecatitlan, on June 12 and 13 at the Tucson Convention Center Music Hall, more information in this edition. Not to be missed, Arizona Bilingual presents the First Annual Father’s Day Festival, Saturday, June 20. We will be giving away a car to a father who is 21 years or older! More information in this month’s and June’s issue. Two more exciting events: Feria de la Lectura /Reading Fair, which is organized every year with the help of the CM Regina Romero, Ward 1, which will be held on Saturday, July 25 at the El Pueblo Regional Center starting at 10am. Another very important event, in which we will help the children of the community, is the Arizona Bilingual’s 2nd Kid’z Expo & Back to School, where we will be giving away more than 1,000 backpacks! This event will be on Saturday, August 1st, at the El Pueblo Activity Center starting at 10am. You can read about it here in our May, June and July Arizona Bilingual issues, website and in our social platforms: FB, Twitter and Instagram.
Thank you dear readers for your interest and continuous support to the Arizona Bilingual Newspaper through these 11 years!

Your faithful friend,
