Restaurant operators donate 10 million meals through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program Surplus food is given to partner organizations to help fight hunger in local communities

ATLANTA – Chick-fil-A and its local franchised restaurant operators recently exceeded the goal of donating more than 10 million meals to those in need through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table ™ program, which helps combat food insecurity in local communities across the country. Since its inception in 2012, the food donation program has grown to include more than 1,200 restaurants in 47 states and Washington, DC, ensuring that leftover food from Chick-fil-A® restaurant kitchens is turned into meals. for those who might otherwise go hungry.

 In partnership with the Food Donation Connection, Chick-fil-A Shared Table connects Chick-fil-A restaurants with local shelters, soup kitchens and non-profit organizations. Once paired, the restaurant’s Team Members regularly pack surplus food for the partner organizations to collect and distribute to those in need.

 “It is a tremendous honor to be able to build relationships with local organizations and know that together we can make a positive impact in our community,” said Carmenza Moreno, Chick-fil-A North Collins Street Operator in Dallas, Texas. “About 80% of surplus food is now distributed through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table, and we are honored to be able to give back to our community in this way.”

 “We are grateful to be a part of the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which allows us to provide food to hundreds of people in need each week,” said Bill DeHass of the Clermont Senior Services Lifelong Learning Centers, which distributes food to seniors in Cincinnati, Ohio. “With this collaboration, seniors receive a hot meal at our centers and greatly enjoy the dishes that incorporate items from the Chick-fil-A menu.”

 In addition to the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, Chick-fil-A has an established partnership with Feeding America to expand its commitment to fighting hunger. With the opening of each new restaurant, Chick-fil-A donates $ 25,000 to Feeding America and the funds are distributed to restaurant partners in their communities to help fight hunger. Since partnering with Feeding America began in 2020, Chick-fil-A has contributed $ 6 million to support Feeding America’s mission to ensure equitable access to nutritious food.
