Are Your Cosmetics Causing You To Age Prematurely?

article-1343905566971-02b9f55d000004b0-703716_636x300Women spend over $426 billion a year on beauty products to help them look young and vibrant. But did you know that what you put on your face and body may actually be accelerating the aging process?

A recent study showed that only 19% of women examine the ingredients in their beauty products. That’s because we trust brands we’re familiar with. We believe that products advertised as “natural” are good for us. But those “natural” ingredients can be petroleum derivatives, animal products and even insect parts. The FDA does not regulate personal care products, which gives cosmetic companies free rein to use cheap fillers and inferior ingredients.

“You would never put gasoline on your face, yet 96% of beauty products on the market contain mineral oil, which is refined petroleum. It not only blocks the skin’s healthy functions, it also contributes to premature aging. Add to that parabens, chemical dyes and fragrances, and you have a toxic brew.”

Sixty percent of whatever you put on your skin is absorbed into the bloodstream, so read labels and become an educated consumer. Your beauty and your health depend on it
