The Best Of Two Worlds

Twitter gives the official presidential account to Joe Biden, without followers

The other accounts reserved for the US Government are @VP for the Vice President, @FLOTUS for the first lady, and @PressSec for the Press Secretariat.

The Twitter account @POTUS, where former President Donald Trump had 33 million followers, was handed over to Joe Biden, who is taking over as President of the United States.

Twitter had already announced a few weeks before that the account would reset and be handed over to the new president, Excelsior recalled.

Social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, partially or totally blocked hundreds of posts from former US President Trump a few days after the change of power.

Private organizations justified censuring the former president for considering that he violated the established rules, was given what they described as messages that encouraged followers to protest violently.

Upon handing over the account to the new President,  Twitter decided to restart it to avoid disqualifications and attacks.
