Students are required to wear their own mask from home at all times during school hours and on the bus to and from school. The only exception to wearing a mask is when the students are eating or drinking in school. Some of the precaution steps against further spread of the virus in the classroom include: all desks be forward facing and include a plexiglass divider for each student’s protection. The schools are expecting and encouraging that the parents screen their students every day before sending them to school. Parents should not send their children to school if they are displaying any COVID-19 symptoms. This return to hybrid learning come from an executive order from Arizona Governor Doug Ducey where he says, “each school district and charter school shall begin offering free on-site learning opportunities and support services for students who need a place to go during the day required by Executive order 2020-41 and shall begin August, 17, 2020, as prescribed in the Executive Order 2020-44”. The district has set in place high tech equipment and training for custodial staff to ensure the proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures are being followed.
