The Pima County Elections Department counted 28,720 early ballots this afternoon and results have been posted to the county’s and state ‘s election results webpage. (https://results.arizona.vote/#/featured/18/0 ) There are about 8,000 early ballots at Elections that still need to be processed for counting. They will be counted on Friday. Another 700 or so early ballots remain with the Pima County Recorder that are still being verified.

The County Recorder has begun verifying the 18,000 Provisional ballots cast Nov. 3. Provisional ballots take longer to verify. Recorder F. Ann Rodriguez said she will continue to run two shifts per day of verification staff to complete them as soon as possible and turn the verified ballots over to Elections for tabulation. Verification of Provisional ballots cannot be completed until all early ballots are counted to ensure a voter didn’t vote twice.
