The Fair Housing Act (FHA) makes it illegal to be discriminated when renting or buying a home based on your race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability. Fair housing impacts your qualify of life including access to employment, education, healthcare, food, and home equity.
SERI’s fair housing program helps tenants and homebuyers know their rights under FHA. Take a free online class to learn about fair housing history, where FHA applies, the seven protected classes, complaint statistics, prohibited activities, signs of discrimination, cases and more. Learn how to file a fair housing complaint inquiry with SERI and receive a certificate of attendance. To attend a public class please email workshops@seriaz.org. Is your workplace or community group interested in learning about their fair housing rights? Schedule a private class by emailing Rachel Spitz at rspitz@seriaz.org.
