A traditional Thanksgiving dinner consists of turkey, stuffed with onions and celery, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob, biscuits, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Turkey is the most well-known Thanksgiving food, but it’s not always the most popular. Thanksgiving favorites vary by region, but pumpkin pie tends to be the most beloved in the United States.
Ingredients:
1 large egg
1 ¼ cups canned pumpkin
2/3 cup sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ginger
⅛ teaspoon cloves
1 ¼ cups evaporated milk
Process:
Heat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a bowl, beat the eggs with a hand mixer. Whisk in remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.
Pour into unbaked pie shell.
Bake for 15 minutes, then, without opening the oven, reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F. Bake an additional 40-45 minutes or until center is set and knife inserted comes out clean.
Serve with whipped cream.
Store the cake in the refrigerator.
