Former Mexican President Supports Tucson’s Bid For International Startup Incubator
The former president of Mexico is offering his support in an effort to help entrepreneurs on both sides of the border. Vicente Fox, who was Mexico’s president from 2000-2006, listened to a pitch yesterday by Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and other members of a Tucson delegation visiting Guanajuato, Mexico. After a nearly two-hour meeting, Fox agreed to the partnership, extending a handshake to the mayor. Fox also accepted an invitation to come to Tucson in January to meet his new U.S. partners. The goal of the incubator is to have the entrepreneurs operate in both countries, with Tucson being the entryway into the market.
