Letter from the Editor

AZB Square Logo 2016- 13 Aniversary LOW RESDear Readers,

With great pleasure I greet and welcome you to our new August edition, celebrating our Thirteenth Anniversary of Arizona Bilingual where we begin a new phase with a new image of our publication for the liking of our readers and customers. I want to thank my current team and all the people who have been part of Arizona Bilingual in these thirteen years of struggle, sacrifice and above all learning experiences. On behalf of our family, partner and companion, Jesus Rodriguez, and myself our sincere gratitude for allowing us to always be in your consideration. Nothing else remains but for me to say:
Let’s keep going for more!

HAPPY THIRTEENTH ANNIVERSARY!

After our events, we finish exhausted but extremely satisfied with the result of weeks of work and coordination just like this past Saturday, July 23rd, at our third annual Kid’z Expo & Back to School Event where we brought happiness, educational, health, and music talent together. It is especially gratifying to see all the families and children participation in our event making them know this is a day dedicated to them! Approximately 1,750 backpacks were given away, 3,600 textbooks in Spanish, thanks to the Consulate of Mexico in Tucson team and its General Consul Mr. Ricardo Pineda Albarrán, 10 bicycles and helmets, 300 children car booster seats, and more than 10,000 school supplies, many gifts, raffles and promotions from all our sponsors. A very special person for all of us on the team and who is always supporting our community is the CM Richard Fimbres Ward 5 along with his team, for the great support and solidarity with our community. Without a doubt, Kid’z Expo & Back to School event was another huge success and accomplishment for us at Arizona Bilingual Newspaper. My appreciation to the whole team, our friends from the media and all our sponsors who made this great event happen.

On the other hand, we are in the month that most children and young people return to school. I encourage all parents to be understanding with their children during these back to school days, especially the young ones who are afraid of what awaits them, parents please give them all your support. Also, be very conscious of your children’s meals; it is recommended, to buy them or prepare healthy snacks low in sugar, fruit and/or vegetables and water. Many children do not like to eat school lunch, we need to pay attention and be aware to our children’s needs. Make it a goal to be aware of your children’s development during this new school year!

Stay tuned for September and October which will be full of many pleasant surprises and outdoor events, ENJOY!!

As always a pleasure to share this column with you.
