Letter from the editor

Readers, I cordially invite you to enjoy this great weather here in Arizona!

This April has brought a splendid spring time for all to enjoy; and with it, a month filled with different events worthy of enjoying outdoors.
It is with great pleasure that I share and invite all of you to our 2nd annual Children’s Day Festival. This event will take place Saturday, April 30th at the Children’s Museum starting at 10am. This event will be completely FREE to the public. Families will be able to share this bonding experience along with the little ones and in a day filled with information, entertainment, music, food, various activities for kids, and FREE access to the museum. Joining us in this fun filled day, will be 13 community leaders such as Mayor Rothschild, as well as different members of the Pima County council and the City of Tucson. Consul de Mexico and other members of the private and academic community sectors will also be present. With that being said: Parents! All children ages 7-12 are invited to send us a letter before April 20th telling us which of the previously mentioned members they look up to and why they are role models. The winners of this competition will be personally awarded along with the leaders Saturday April 30th during the event at the Children’s Museum located 200 S 6th Ave. from 10am – 2pm. Aside from meeting their respective role models, the winners will receive a designated date in which they will be able to spend with them in their offices or their work places. Remember parents: A kid’s happiness could lead to a better future!
Speaking of kids, it is crucial that as parents, we make time in our daily lives to spend with our kids. What better way to do it than reading a book, or a story. Take 15 – 30 minutes of your time a day. The quality time you give to them will make all the difference when developing and molding their own lives.
Congratulations to all the kids, this upcoming April 30th (Children’s Day) often celebrated in Mexico, The United States and different countries around the world. A happy childhood is a sign of a successful adulthood.
