For more than 50 years, hospital has earned top honors for quality and patient safety

St. Mary’s Hospital is proud to announce it recently achieved reaccreditation from The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for healthcare quality and safety demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to providing the highest quality of care and patient experience.

The Joint Commission (TJC) is the country’s oldest and largest accreditor of healthcare organizations, established in 1951. Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital has been Joint Commission-certified since 1963.

This is no easy feat, as accreditation requires regular, unannounced, on-site surveys to ensure the entire facility complies with best practices and operates at the highest level. By meeting rigorous performance standards set by TJC, St. Mary’s shows that it can deliver the right treatment in the right way at the right time – a cornerstone of healthcare excellence.

“Accreditation with The Joint Commission is the industry standard for best practices. Recognition by this prestigious organization assures the public of our commitment to the highest quality standards,” says President and CEO of Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital, Amy Beiter, MD. “Our patients and their families know they are being cared for by an accredited healthcare facility dedicated to providing the safest and most effective care.”

Located in Tucson, Arizona, Carondelet Health Network is currently a Catholic, non-profit healthcare system dedicated to responding to the health, education, and wellness needs of Southern Arizonans.
